We are deeply shocked. In this difficult moment our hearts and minds are with our French friends and comrades. We feel sorrow for the many innocent victims and compassion with their families. The terror attacks in Paris are directed against all of us.

In the Progressive Alliance we stand on the side of France against this fanatic terrorism. We support the French president Hollande and the government of France in the fight against terrorism.

As Democrats, Social Democrats and Socialists we stand together and we will defend democracy and freedom. Hatred, violence and fear must not have any place. We will never submit to terror.

Our commitment is to defend what France initiated once upon a time in the world: Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité.
