Budapest Workshop – For a New Policy of Détente
The Progressive Alliance Workshop took place at the Congress of the Party of European Socialists (PES) in Budapest, 12 June 2015, 14.30 – 16.30 hrs.
Ending the violence in Eastern Ukraine and compelling all sides to reach a peaceful political solution of the conflict is the primary aim. At the same time, it is clear that securing peace and stability can only succeed in the long term if we strive for dialogue, mutual understanding and the balancing of legitimate interests. Only in that way will we get back onto the path of a long-term, stable and comprehensive peace and security settlement for all of us in Europe.
