Leaders from across the Americas and beyond gathered to deliberate on strategies to counter the erosion of democracy, address systemic inequalities, and strengthen international solidarity in response to growing crises.
The first day began with the Board Meeting, where participants outlined the Progressive Alliance’s priorities for the year. Discussions focused on renewing the Alliance’s mission, revitalizing regional networks, and fostering transcontinental exchanges to confront global challenges. The second day featured thematic panels addressing strategies to confront inequality and authoritarianism, build inclusive governance, and safeguard democracy. Participants shared insights on how progressive forces in the Americas and beyond could strengthen collaboration to counter right-wing populism and bolster democratic institutions. Leaders from Latin America emphasized the urgency of addressing regional inequalities and shared their experiences in navigating political challenges to drive progressive reforms and regain trust in institutions.
