Highlights of the Board Meeting and Progressive Alliance in the Americas Conference in Buenos Aires

From 18–20 September, progressive leaders from across the Americas gathered in Buenos Aires, Argentina under the theme “For Democracy and Internationalism.” At a time when democracy and multilateralism face coordinated global threats, the Progressive Alliance of the Americas came together to exchange experiences, strengthen solidarity, and chart collective action.

The conference brought together representatives of member parties and associate members to examine regional and international dynamics and share strategies to defend democracy, human rights, and social justice in an era of polarization and inequality.

The important discussions are summed up in a Buenos Aires Declaration, a roadmap for collective debate and political action to defend democracy, build inclusive societies, and promote a fairer, rules-based global order.
