Presidium Meeting in Berlin

The Progressive Alliance held the meeting of its Presidium, bringing together progressive political leadership from across regions at a moment of profound global strain. Hosted by the Social Democratic Party of Germany and its leader Lars Klingbeil at the Willy-Brandt-Haus, the meeting focused on shared political assessments, strategic priorities, and how progressives can organize collectively in a world shaped by conflict, inequality, and democratic erosion.

As the far right internationalizes and authoritarian politics gain ground, progressives cannot respond in isolation. The Presidium strengthens the Alliance’s ability to act politically across borders—aligning leadership, sharpening common positions, and shaping international direction grounded in democracy, social justice, and peace. Discussions also addressed how to further strengthen the Progressive Alliance as a global and relevant platform for political cooperation and joint action.

The Presidium anchors the Alliance’s commitment to act together where it matters most—when democracy is under pressure and solidarity must translate into collective political action.
