Objective:
The Progressive Alliance is a network of more than 140 parties and organizations around the world with socialist, social democratic, progressive and labor roots. It is a platform for debate and construction of progress agendas that aims to promote more integrated societies, with greater levels of equality of opportunity and that promote cooperation between civil society organizations, political parties and government entities.
Since its creation, the Progressive Alliance has established strong cooperation with progressive unions and civil society organizations, for example, in the field of gender equality and LGBT+ rights, as well as with reflection and debate groups.
Convinced of the importance of broadening the horizon of work on various topics, this Forum (the first held within the Alliance) aims to give visibility to the work carried out by representatives of the LGBT+ community in the member parties, and to open a dialogue with representatives of sexual diversity organizations to promote horizontal cooperation that enriches our agenda and allows for the establishment of new links. The Forum will take place over two consecutive days.
