We are profoundly appalled by the terrorist attack in Nice. Our hearts and thoughts are with our French friends at this difficult time, and we mourn for the many innocent victims.
The inhuman terrorist attack in Nice illustrates the degree of brutality and cruelty being directed by terrorists against the system of liberal values. France has been struck by terror on the very day when the French Republic celebrates itself and its values of liberty, equality and fraternity.
We shall join our friends and partners in France and throughout the world to defend the values of the Enlightenment and liberality, and we shall never give way to terrorists. Our friendship, solidarity and mutual engagement in support of our values are stronger than violence of any kind.
