Humanitarian support for Türkiye and Northern Syria

In the early morning of 6 February 2023, a devastating earthquake hit southern Türkiye and Northern Syria. Tens of thousands of people have been killed and tens of millions have been affected in both countries.

In this time of need, progressives are responding with help and support. The PES and the Progressive Alliance call for urgent mobilisation of all available resources to assist the humanitarian response. Charity and relief organisations such as ASB Germany (Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund) are there to help.

Founded in 1888, ASB – the “Workers’ Samaritan Federation” – supports people in need in Germany, Europe and around the world, rooted in the social democratic ideals of solidarity and equal opportunities.
